M’s First Year.

M’s session was split in two and mom had been super patient waiting for the results!

She is a super happy, very busy, daddy loving little girl and I am so happy to have had the chance to capture her at her best!

A Berry Beautiful Arrival……

I was so very lucky to get my camera on the sweetest little 3 day old baby girl yesterday.

She didn’t settle easily and I had to work hard for every shot BUT….I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Mommy and daddy are SO in LOVE………

What a doll.  I hope to follow through the first year with her and many years afterwards…..

I want to see her transform into the butterfly she was born to be.

I did product shots today for Daisy Cakes Cafe in Plum Coulee.

The primary selling feature of the Cafe is the cakes that she does….wedding, birthday, anniversary.

You name the ocassion and she will tranform a cake into a dazzling work of art. Those cakes are a MUST SEE.

On top of the cakes she had a booming little cafe that serves little specialty foods daily. Stop by for a coffee..

Working Together To Get It Right!

Photography has taught me many things. I see the world differently than I used to, I am constantly thinking of composition (ha),

more time looking at people’s body language, I push myself harder and this list could go on for a very long time! Don’t worry…I won’t bore you anymore!

I’ve been given so many amazing opportunities since starting this circus adventure in my life.

People knocking on my door and giving me a chance to capture them, their children, their love and life….and their work.

A few months back I approached a local business, Daisy Cakes Cafe, about teaming up and working together. I was pleasantly suprized when she agreed.

This was new territory for me….so I tread cautiously. I know my way around a photo, that’s for sure….but when she asked about design…well,

I was a little less than certain in my abilities, but I tried my hand at it because  the worst that could happen was that I sucked. So what!

First I took photos of the unbelievable cakes Tina made:

AREN’T THEY GORGEOUS?

I arrived just in time to see her adding the finishing touches to the rainbow/butterfly one.

tlp {photography}  tlp {photography}

And of course I peek around at the food and decor again. It a calm and a beautiful place to sit and enjoy a big piece of cheesecake and a coffee!

Great, now I’m hungry! Sheesh……

…back to the point right…ok, so i took those photos of the 3 cakes and designed 3 business cards for her. She liked them all, so she went ahead and ordered all 3 designs:

tlp {photography}

TAH DAH! I can say that I am VERY pleased with them.

So my adventure continues. I hope it brings me new challenges and new faces……and all the “old” faces too.

Oh, and before I go…….

tlp {photography}

I think a mess is a good thing. It shows how hard she works making cakes that people love. She loves what she does, that’s easy to see.

I hope her and I continue to work together…who knows where the opportunity can lead us…….

Party Planning…..

So tomorrow is my son’s 3rd birthday. We’ve been so busy getting ready for his party….the food, the decorations, the cleaning, the invites, the gifts and……THE CAKE!

We are usually good with a generic rectangle slab of iced and flowered cake made by someone in the bakery of the local grocery…..but THIS time we went searching. I had something in mind and I was going to die trying to find it. Luck to report…I don’t have to die, because I found it!

tlp {photography}

       I was told by a friend about Daisy Cakes Cafe in Plum Coulee!

       Such a sweet little place filled with yummy sights and smells.
        tlp {photography}

A great place to sit and enjoy a coffee, cookie….heck, maybe even both! There are plenty of other tasty treats to be devoured also.

tlp {photography}

tlp {photography}                                                     tlp {photography}

Sweet and simple decor.  Relaxing atmosphere…….and open kitchen, so you can watch Tina mold, roll and tranform a regular cake into a gorgeous creation.

tlp {photography}

That’s my boy’s Lightning McQueen cake right there! So awesome being able to watch her work!

tlp {photography}

Well, I still have a crap load to do between now and tomorrow at 5pm….so come back tomorrow and see more photos of THE CAKE…and who ate it!
